Class 12 exams to be conducted amidst fear of COVID 19

Kathmandu: With the lift of lockdown, it has been expected that the educational activities will resume.

The government has given permission to conduct exams from August 17, following the safety guidelines. Following the announcement, the National Examination Board has started preparations to conduct exams.

The board is doing homework to conduct Class 12’s exam in around the third week of September. According to Krishna Sharma, the controller of the Board said that they have been making preparation so that proper social distancing could be implemented during exams.

The board which was preparing to conduct exams April-May has already printed the question paper. There are 3, 10,000 regular candidates and 1, 21,002 partial candidates in Class 12.

Students and teachers have welcomed this decision of the government. According to Narayan Pokharel, teacher of Texas College the results may not be up to the mark as students are psychologically disturbed due to the situation and fear of infection.

Though the decision has given some relief to the students and parents who were in a dilemma. However, as the COVID 19 infection is still spreading, remaining alert and maintaining safety has to be the first priority.
