Coronavirus will end in two years, director general of WHO says

 Agency: World Health Organization (WHO) has said that the coronavirus might be controlled in two years from now. According to Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus , director general of WHO, the pandemic will finish before less than two years- faster than it took for eradication of Spanish flu.

“Spanish Flu was controlled in two years, and with the advantage of better medical technology today, we will be able to eliminate the coronavirus in less than two years,” Ghebreyesus said.

According to him, the Covid 19 has spread due to globalization and connectedness. Spanish Flu which existed from 1918 to 1920 AD took lives of around 50 million people. Similarly, coronavirus has claimed lives of around 8,00,000 people till now. United States of America has been one of the most affected regions in the world.

Till now 180,000 people have died due to coronavirus infection. Similarly, in India around 55,000 people have lost their lives and 3,00,000 people have the infection.
