WHO makes mandatory for children above 12 years to wear mask

Agency: The World Health Organisation (WHO) has said that children above 12 years should wear mask under the same condition as adults to prevent the spread of Covid-19.

However, children below five years are not required to wear masks based on the situation he/she is in, according to WHO and UNICEF.

According to studies, children above 12 years are more prone to transmitting coronavirus to younger children. “However, more data is needed for understanding the role of adolescent and children in transmission,” according to WHO and UNICEF.

Though WHO has made it mandatory for everyone to use mask, earlier it had not issued any guidelines for children before.
