Kathmandu: The government has urged the public not to opt for PCR test unless they exhibit symptoms of Covid-19. Dr Jageshwar Gautam, the spokesperson for the Ministry of Health and Population, made a public appeal for PCR tests only to the people with symptoms of coronavirus.
“As PCR test is very expensive, we request only the people with symptoms to undergo the test,” he said.
The people who have symptoms and the people who have come in contact tracing only should undergo PCR test. He said that it is better for everyone to stay in isolation for some days rather than rush for PCR tests. “PCR test is not a medicine for corona,” he said.
“Staying in home isolation will ensure your safety as well as the safety of others,” Gautam said.
