New regulation against acid attackers in the offing

Kathmandu: The government is preparing to draft a strong law to discourage incidents of acid attacks.

Prime Minister KP Oli has directed the law minister and other concerned ministries to prepare a draft of the regulation.

The regulation will include provision which makes it mandatory for the acid attackers to spend their own property for the treatment of the victim.

PM Oli said that the acid attack victims will get free treatment at Bir Hospital and TU Teaching Hospital. Also, the government will invest on the education of the victims, he said.

The prime minister said this during his meeting with 12 acid attack victims at Baluwatar on Thursday.
