NRB directs BFIs to keep interest rate on personal loan constant

Kathmandu: A new directive of Nepal Rastra Bank has restricted the banks and financial institutions to fix the interest rate on the basis of liquidity.

According to the directive, banks cannot change the interest rate on personal loans.

From now onwards, banks have to keep the interest rate constant on any personal loan.

Earlier, the banks had been changing the interest rate depending on the liquidity. Usually customers take these kinds of loans for housing and automobiles.
