Seti Provincial Hospital faces shortage of doctors

Kailali: With the increasing number of coronavirus cases in far-western Nepal, Seti Provincial Hospital, Dhangadhi is facing shortage of human resources.

Chief of the Covid-19 Treatment Department of the hospital Dr Sher Bahadur Kamar said there is lack of doctors and medical practitioners who are required to give oxygen, operate ventilator machine, give anesthesia and other medical services.

“We only had one anesthetist. Now, we have added one more doctor,” he said, adding “We are facing problem in management because of the increasing number of critical cases.”

There are ten ICU beds and ten ventilators in the hospital. There are 36 patients in the isolation department.

Dr Kamar said that though the number of Covid-19 cases is increasing, people are not careful about safety guidelines.
