Europe in the second wave; government reimposed lockdown in some countries

Agency: France and Germany are restarting lockdown because of the surge in number of cases and deaths.

In France, people will be allowed to leave home for essential work and medical reasons.

President of France Emmanuel Macron said that the second wave will be harder than the first wave.

Similarly, Germany has also imposed a soft lockdown. Germany shall close restaurants, bars, gyms and theatres, said Chancellor Angela Merkel.

The Covid 19 infection are increasing rapidly across Europe, including the UK. On Wednesday, UK announced 310 new deaths and 24,701 new cases.

In France, Covid daily deaths reached to 244 on Wednesday only. Similarly, 36, 437 new cases were confirmed on that day.

According to German health officials another 89 people had died in the past 24 hours. There were 16,774 new Covid 19 infections during the period, writes BBC.
