UK Nepal Trade and Investment Forum established
London: London-based entrepreneurs, businessmen and investors on Monday established the UK-Nepal Trade and Investment Forum to facilitate trade and business between the two countries.
Lord Karan Bilimoria has been named as the vice president of the forum. Other vice presidents include Viscount Waverly, Mahanta Bahadur Shrestha, Bhagwanji Chauhan and Rabindra Jung Rayamajhi. Similarly, Atam Sanddhu has been elected as general secretary. Likewise, Dr Durga Bahadur Subedi, Nepalese ambassador to the UK, is the patron of the organisation. Similarly, Bikas Nepal has been appointed as treasures of the forum.
During the inauguration program, Ambassador Dr Subedi said that the relation between the UK and Nepal will grow stronger with the formation of this body. “The Nepal Government has also been working to improve FDI policies,” said Ambassador Subedi.
Newly elected President Lord Sheikh said that the forum will help in bringing foreign investment from London to Nepal, increase the business of Nepali products in London and contribute to the economy of Nepal.
The forum has decided to organize a program focused on business and investment of Nepal on third week of September.
