New Zealand PM postpones elections due to new Covid-19 cases

Kathmandu: Prime Minister of New Zealand Jacinda Ardern has been aggressively working on new strategies to control coronavirus infection. New Zealand, which became successful to bring the number of infection to zero, has recently found 49 new cases of Covid-19.

Last week, new cases for Covid-19 were found in the country. So, the prime minister has postponed the election for the next four weeks. The election has been postponed till October 17, she informed.

She said that keeping so many people safe during the election is very challenging.

According to a local research released on Monday, 60 percent of citizens don’t think that the election will be held on September 10.

Till Sunday, there were 69 coronavirus cases in New Zealand. Among them, 49 are from Auckland.
