NRB eases forex service in rural areas

Kathmandu: From now onwards, customers will be able to exchange foreign currency from different branches of commercial banks in rural areas.

Earlier, only a few branches in urban areas used to exchange foreign currencies. However, Nepal Rastra Bank has now made it mandatory for every bank to buy foreign currency.

This new provision expected to facilitate  foreign returnees, tourists and tourism entrepreneurs as they won’t have to travel far for forex.

However, the bank officials have to reach to the specific branches to get the foreign currency. Similarly, NRB has also eased the license provision to make the foreign exchange convenient.
