Kathmandu: The Confederation of Nepalese Industries (CNI) has requested President Bidhya Devi Bhandari to postpone their deadline for tax payment

Representatives of CNI met with President Bhandari on Saturday and requested her to postpone the deadline because of the ongoing economic crisis faced by the country. “This decision of the government would provide relief to the business community,” CNI said in a statement.

A representative of CNI said that the industries are operating by following the safety protocols set by the government. The representatives of different industries said that they have been facilitating PCR tests for their staff members, if anyone in the workplace has been infected with Covid-19.

“It is better to do contact tracing, and continue the work. Staff who are not infected can continue their work,” they said.

They also said that the tourism industry should be opened now. “The tourists who come to Nepal can be kept in quarantine for three days,” they suggested, adding, “After three days, they must undergo PCR test. If the result is negative, they must be allowed to move freely around.”

CNI President Satish Kumar Moore, Senior Vice-President Bishnu Kumar Agarwal and Vice-Presidents duo Anuj Agarwal and Nirwan Chaudhary were present in the meeting.
