Amazon India creating more than 1,00,000 jobs during festive season

 

 

Ecommerce giant Amazon has created more than 1,00,000 seasonal employment across India ahead of the festive season.

 

The ecommerce companies including Amazon and Flipkart hire thousands of temporary delivery and support people ahead festivals.

 

The company also creates indirect opportunities through logistic partners, vendors and others during the festive season.

 

A statement issued by Amazon India says this is another step in its commitment of creating one million jobs in India by 2025.  It said that the employment generation process will be fuelled by technology, infrastructure and other logistics network.

 

In 2019, Amazon India and rival Flipkart had announced creation of over 1.4 lakh temporary jobs across supply chain, last-mile connectivity and customer support in preparation for their festive sales.
