One more rhino found dead at Chitwan National Park
Chitwan: One more rhinoceros in western part of Chitwan National Park has been found dead. The rhinoceros was found dead at Kathauna of Binayi Triveni Rural Municipality.
The dead rhino was male and is believed to be of 30 to 35 years. Ashok Ram, information officer of the national park, said that the rhinoceros might have died one month ago.
He said that the rhino might have been killed while fighting with another rhinoceros. The horn and hide of the rhino is safe, ruling out any possibility of poaching.
Already nine rhinos have lost their lives in the fiscal year 2020/21. Only in September-October, six rhinos were dead at the national park. The national park has shown concern regarding the increase in instances of natural death of rhinos. Official Ram said that they are preparing to study about the cause of sudden deaths of rhinoceros.
