Global economic rebound in 2021 is the main agenda: G20 Summit
Agency: Leaders of world’s 20 biggest economies will talk about ensuring good access of COVID 19 vaccines, drugs and tests globally during their virtual G20 meeting, which is being hosted by Saudi Arabia.
“We will spare no effort to ensure their affordable and equitable access for all people, consistent with members’ commitments to incentivise innovation,” the G20 leaders said in the draft document seen by the Reuters news agency.
“We recognise the role of extensive immunisation as a global public good,” the document said. The pandemic crisis and uncertain economic recovery was the main agenda for the first day.
Strengthening the idea of economic rebound in 2021 was the top agenda of the meeting.
Chinese President Xi Jingping has offered to cooperate on vaccines. The president said that China will help other developing countries and work hard to make affordable vaccines which all countries can have access to.
Similarly, Russian President Vladimir Putin has offered to provide Russia’s Sputnik V coronavirus vaccine to other countries.
