Pakistan opposition parties protest against the rule of Imran Khan

NepalKhoj Report 22 Nov, 2020

Agency: Opposition parties of Pakistan are piling up pressure on current Prime Minister Imran Khan. The representatives of the opposition parties have been organizing various protests along with the series of protests relating to the country’s Afghan policy.

Thousands of protestors took to the streets despite the government’s ban  on gatherings to prevent the infection of Covid 19 in the community.

The protestors allege that the prime minister rose to power in rigged 2018 elections.

PM Khan said that the campaigners are blackmailing him to drop corruption cases against the opposition leaders. The protestors were carrying banners criticizing the country’s ‘hypocritic policy’.

Pakistan PM Khan had met the Afghan President Ashraf Ghani on November 19 during his visit to Kabul. Khan vowed to “do everything” to reduce violence in Afghanistan. While the two leaders explored the ways to do the reconciliation, thousands of protestors took to the streets of Kabul terming Pakistan as ‘producer, exporter and sponsor of terrorism’.

Pakistan has been long blamed for supporting terrorists and creating instability in Afghanistan.
