Oxford University vaccine shows 70 percent protection

Agency: The vaccine developed by the University of Oxford reportedly stops 70 percent of people from developing Covid-19 symptoms.

The BBC writes that this is both a victory and also disappointment after Pfizer and Moderna have showed 95 percent protection.

If this is approved by regulators, this vaccine will also play a significant role in tackling the Covid-19 virus.

The UK government has pre-ordered 100 million doses of the Oxford vaccine, according to BBC. This will be enough to immunize 50 million people.

More than 20,000 volunteers were involved in the tests. Half of them were from UK and the rest were from Brazil.
