First COVID 19 vaccine shipments to arrive Monday morning in US

Agency: The US government will reportedly start providing Pfizer/BioNTech coronavirus vaccine from Monday.

According to BBC, the first three million doses of the vaccine will be shipped “across all states”.

Studies have shown that the vaccine offers up to 95 percent protection.  It was confirmed safe by the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) of the USA.

The US has reported around 305,082 Covid-19 deaths as of December 13. The recent death toll was 3,309 per day. According to the  Johns Hopkins University website, this is the highest toll in a single day anywhere in the world.

During a news conference on Saturday, U.S. Army General Gustave Perna said that doses of the vaccine would be packed into shipping containers for transportation “within the next 24 hours”.

According to Reuters, the first US COVID-19 vaccine shipments will arrive at 145 locations.

US authorized the Pfizer Inc. and BioNTech SE COVID 19 vaccine on Friday evening.
