Argentina legalises abortion

Argentina’s senate has passed a landmarked abortion bill. With this, the country has become the fouth country in Latin America to legalise the practice.

The Senate voted by 38 in favor to 29 against with one abstention to approve a bill. The bill allows the procedure through the 14^th week of pregnancy, according to Aljazeera.

Tens of thousands of people were crowded into the square around the National Congress for a 12 hour debate.

Though the campaign for this issue was going on since a long time, the country remained divided.

In the meantime, today, the opponents were also gathered outside the Congress, holding a mass and praying for legislators to block the bill.
