Govt to upgrade several airports

Kathmandu: The government has made plan to construct and upgrade 31 domestic airports.Civil Aviation Authority of Nepal (CAAN) has taken the responsibility of the upgradation and construction.
The airports in Biratnagar, Nepalgunj, Chandragadhi, Dhangadhi, Bharatpur, Ramechhap, Jumla, Surkhet, Taplejung,Lukla, Janakpur,Simikot, Rara and Rajbiran are being upgraded.
Similarly, the government is upgrading Khiji-Chandreswari airport, Ilam airport, Bajhang airport, Gulmi airport, Baitadi airport, Doti airport, Phaplu airport, Khanidada airport, Thamkharka airport and other airports.
Also, renovation work is going on various places including Surkhet, Bhairahawa, Biratnagar, Chandragadhi, Bharatpur and other domestic airports.
