Massacre of Hindus and Supporters of India, and the Stance of Indian Govt.

Kathmandu. Every intellectual got into worry on coming to know from news on television on 05 August 2024 that Sheikh Hasina had come to India after submitting her resignation, and on knowing the state of affairs actually prevailing in Bangladesh. But, from the very next day, news became to pour in that sanatani Hindus were being massacred, their property was being looted, and rapes were being committed, and also that, Hindus were gathering at the borders to save their life.
As per the details that came out after holding of emergency meeting of the Cabinet Committee on Security of the Indian Govt, it was learnt that there was silence on the state of affairs in Bangladesh and that the situation was being closely monitored, as per the standard diplomatic language. And then, social media was abuzz with comments on the issue, and statements were circulated that the opposition parties were mute on the issue and were refraining to speak on it. Those who are running this campaign fail to understand that who, in fact, is running the government—they themselves or the opposition parties?
Those organizations who dub themselves as pro-Hindus and their saviours were also silent on the issue. At first, statement of their former All India functionary came to light. Their top officer bearers commented after passage of 4-5 days that may be their chintan (contemplation) was completed in 4-5 days, perhaps.
One of my friends who is a BJP leader asked me as to what the government should do in the matter? I said, “a lot.” When he told me to comment further, then I replied that, first we should try to create an atmosphere that if these killings do not stop, we might have to consider the option of military action, and secondly, we should have declared publicly that, we were willing to give political asylum to Sheikh Hasina. The effect of this step would have been that the Bangladesh Army and President would have been compelled to think umpteen number of times about their acts and additionally, the morale of Hindus and the Indian lobby would have increased manifold.
Thirdly, the Hindu fleeing the country should have been allowed to cross the border and kept in refugee camps, and when they would have returned back, then the Bangladesh Govt. was to be forced to compensate for the losses incurred by these refugees and also the Indian Govt.
We should have immediately called for convening of the emergency meeting of the United Nations Security Council and should have approached the Human Rights Commission.
The Indian Navy should have been put on a high alert to impose “naval blockade,” if necessary. Furthermore, a unit of the Indian Army should also have been posted at the Indo-Bangladesh border.
Besides this, the religious leaders belonging to the Muslim community should have been called upon to issue statements on the issue.
Moreover, a demonstration was required to be held before the High Commission of Bangladesh. I reminded him of the fact that, when atrocities were unleashed on the Hindus in 1971, the Jan Sangh had held a massive demonstration of 10 lakh Hindus at the Boat Club, Delhi. I remarked that, “Sir, had there been a non-BJP govt. at the Centre, you people would have shook the whole nation.”
The Bangladesh Govt. should have been suggested that all the Hindus in the country should be asked to gather at one place in order to provide them with security in all possible way. Jagmohan, during his tenure in Kashmir, exactly did this.
I would like to say to my friends that, when their opponents were in power earlier, they fulfilled their duty. The then government had brought, on a safe passage, Dalai Lama who was 6597 kms afar, from Lhasa to Tawang in India, on 31 March 1959. Merely 20 days after his arrival in India, the Dalai Lama Exile Govt. was set up here with headquarters at Mussoorie.
On 14 November 1962, Special Frontier Force was established in which Tibetans were recruited, and they were imparted military training. This Force exists even today.
In the same way, not only one crore Hindu refugees were given shelter in India in 1971 but also the exiled government of Sheikh Mujibur Rahman was set up that was headquartered in India. And thus, the geography of the Indian subcontinent was altered by giving birth to a new country in world.
We do not require a ‘56-inch chest,’ but rather, leadership like that of Benjamin Netanyahu.
