Workshop on disaster preparedness and response plans concludes

Kathmandu. A two-day workshop for developing hospital disaster preparedness and response plans (HDPRP) concluded in Pokhara on Sunday. The workshop was conducted by the Ministry of Health and Population and the World Health Organization with financial technical support from the ‘Pandemic Fund’.
The workshop had brought together health workers and administrative staff from 12 satellite hospitals in Gandaki Province. The hospitals included Burtibang Hospital, Baglung; Provincial Hospital Mustang, Jomsom; Damauli Hospital, Tanahun; Provincial Hospital Putlibazar, Syangja; Lamjung District Hospital, Lamjung; Provincial Hospital Beni; Provincial Hospital Chame, Manang; Provincial Hospital Kusma, Parvat; Aam Pipla Hospital, Gorkha; Mid-Bindhu Provincial Hospital, Nawalpur; and Mother Child Friendship Provincial Hospital, Kaski; as well as the Provincial General and Infectious Disease Hospital, Kaski.
The participants had developed their hospital’s ‘HDIPR’ using the ‘Hospital Safety Index Plus App’ under the guidance of a qualified trainer. They were provided with detailed information about coordination and communication for public health emergencies, the ‘HEOC’ network, hubs, and satellite hospital networks.
