Trump officially nominated for second term
Republicans have nominated current president of the United States Donald Trump as presidential candidate for his second term.
Trump formally became the presidential candidate of the Republican Party after a scale-down group of delegates got together for a roll-call vote. This gathering took place at Charlotte Convention Center.
In the gathering, attendees sat at well-spaced tables. The attendees wore mask. However, many of them also violated the guidelines set for the gathering.
US president Trump is the first impeached president who has been nominated for a second term. Former president Bill Clinton had limited term when he was impeached. Similarly, in 1868, President Andrew Johnson had failed to secure democratic nomination because of his impeachment.
