India bans 118 Chinese apps including PUBG
India has banned 118 Chinese apps including popular gaming app, PUBG in mobile version.
PUBG is quite popular in India and has millions of active users.
India has also banned PUBG lite app. However, it has not yet banned the desktop version of the app. Reportedly, there are 50 million active PUBG players in India.
The Indian Ministry of Information and Technology said in a press statement that the government banned the apps because they carry serious threats in revealing information regarding sovereignty and integrity of India, India’s defense and security of the state.
Prior to this, in June, the government had banned 59 Chinese mobile apps including TikTok, UC browser and WeChat. The Indian government banned these apps citing security concerns.
