Microsoft to let employee work from home permanently
Microsoft has reportedly decided to allow its employees work from home permanently.
According to US media The Verge, the employees of the software giant are still working from home with the increasing Covid-19 cases. Microsoft is planning to reopen its US offices until January 2021 at the earliest.
The company said that workers can chose to work from their home, even when the office opens.
In that case, they will have to give up office space, the company said.
Microsoft’s Chief People Officer Kathleen Hogan said in a note that the company will offer flexibility to support employees and their working style while balancing their business needs.
According to The Verge, the employees will need approval from their managers to work remotely on a permanent basis. However, they can spend less than 50 percent of their week working from home without approval.
