NepalKhoj Report 2 Dec, 2020

Agency: Immunisation against COVID-19 could start within days for those who need it most in the UK, according to BBC.

With this, the UK has become the first country in the world to approve the Pfizer/BioNTech coronavirus vaccine for widespread use.

According to BBC, the UK already has ordered 40 million doses of vaccine. This will be enough to vaccinate 20 million people.

It took 10 months for the vaccine to become ready. Health Secretary Matt Hancock tweeted “Help is on its way.”

Vaccination centres are being set up in conference centres and around 50 hospitals are on standby.

Experts say that though vaccination will start, people will need to remain vigilant and follow safety porotocols. They must continue social distancing and using face masks. Also, isolation for those who have contracted the virus has to be strictly followed, according to experts.
