Grand Finale of ICT award to be organized on December 26

Kathmandu: The grand finale of the Huawei ICT Award 2020 will be organized on December 26 at Soaltee Crown Plaza.

The program, sponsored by Huawei, is being organized in association with Nepal Telecom and Genesse Solution. The program is powered by Fonepay. Nepal Telecom Authority is the special supporting organization in the program.

In the final program of the award, the best in 11 different categories will get awards. More than 350 online applications have been received for this year’s ICT Award 2020 from home and abroad, said organizer Razan Lamsal, President of Living with ICT.

“The Huawei ICT Awards 2020 has 14 membered Jury committee and a 14-member special advisory committee. The selection process for the award, which started last Bhadra, has been conducted virtually this year,” writes the press release issued by the organizer.

 Jury Coordinator Sushil Pokharel said that more than 25 virtual meetings have been organized and the highest level of technology has been used for the selection process.

Among the categories at the Huawei ICT Awards 2020 which include Startup ICT Awards, Product ICT Awards, Rising Student ICT Awards and Ncell Innovation ICT Awards, the top five categories have been announced. The top three in the Digital Education and Digital Governance ICT Awards has already been announced. The winners of Pioneer ICT Award, Entrepreneur ICT Award, Nepali Diaspora ICT Award, Woman Icon ICT Award and Media Person ICT Award 2020 will be announced in the final program.

Organizations including Ncell, Rastriya Banijya Bank, e-Sewa, NAST, National Information Technology Center, Presidential Business School, Neema Academy, Eminance Ways, Dish Home, TDO Nepal and others have collaborated in the Huawei ICT Award 2020.

This year, the winners of Startup ICT Award, Product ICT Award, Rising Student ICT Award and Innovation Driven Crisis Response ICT Award 2020 will get the Concessional Loan Facility up to Rs. 5 million under the Startup Fund of the Government of Nepal,” writes the release.

Similarly, banking partner Rastriya Banijya Bank will provide unrestricted concessional loan facility up to Rs. 1 million. The winner of the Innovation Driven Crisis Response ICT Award will receive a special cash prize through Ncell. The winner of this category will be assisted by Ncell.

Nepal Telecom, which is in the association section, will provide fiber to home service to all the winners for one year. Genesee Solutions will provide Amazon Cloud Services to the winners and the top 5 startups. The e-services will provide free assistance of Rs. 25,000 to the best of the four categories in their business integration and promotion. Cyber security Partner Eminance Ways will provide the necessary support packages for cyber security.
