Sanskrit education to be made technology-friendly
Deukhuri: Nepal Sanskrit University has forwarded an action plan to make the Sanskrit education technology-friendly. A plan has been put forward to take a preliminary course conducted before getting admission in Bachelor level in Sanskrit (Prakshastri) and Sanskrit language training in an online method in the first phase for the same.
It is planning to offer translation, research, writing of textbooks, editing of Sanskrit education for foreign students to run Bachelor’s level classes. The University Assembly has passed the proposal of carrying out regular activities like training and research for the preservation of traditional rituals of yoga and naturopathy.
The University Assembly was held on December 13 in Kathmandu. Registrar of the University, Madhav Adhikari, shared that the study of yoga and lifestyle management would be started from this year. He said that the government would be urged to manage budget to conduct classes by creating separate law faculty, operate classes by developing Bachelor of Pharmacy curriculum under the Institution of Ayurveda, organize the International Sanskrit Conference in 2024 and establish a 200-bed well-equipped integrated teaching hospital to run classes for students pursuing Ayurveda and wanting to pursue naturopathy in the near future.
The proposal to move forward the process to establish Vedic Agricultural Research Centre as per the concept of the land bank under the ownership of the Nepal Sanskrit University in Deukhuri, Dang has been passed, said Adhikari.
Bidding to construct a botanical park in the southern part of the University would be announced this week, it has been informed. The project spanning 18 bighas of lands is estimated to cost Rs 110 million.
