Indian government is starting the COVID 19 vaccine dry run in all the states from January 2.
This is the second dry run in India. The first was held on December 28 and 29 in four states.
Dry run is a testing process where the effects of a possible failure are intentionally mitigated.
This testing will take place in selective place in each state. The participant will receive dummy COVID vaccines. This is meant to test the mechanisms and find out possible gaps before actual vaccine drive.
An expert panel is examining application from three firms including Serum Institute of India, Bharat Biotech and Pfizer.
