‘British Government positive to meet demands of Ex-Gurkha’

London . The Nepali and British sides held talks on Thursday in London, the UK, regarding the issues concerning Ex-Gurkha servicemen including their demand for equal pension.
The two sides sat for a meeting over the issue almost a year after. The Deputy Chief of Mission of Embassy of Nepal in London, Bipin Duwadi, said the British side has responded positively to the demands of Ex-Gurkha servicemen.
The meeting concluded on Thursday by agreeing to meet again after sufficient homework about the demands. Deputy Chief of Mission Duwadi, the defence officials of the British Government and representatives of Ex-Gurkha servicemen were present at the meeting.
“The British side is positive. A consensus has been made to sit for a next meeting after determining the total number of pensioners and the required amount for them,” Duwadi told the RSS. Likewise, President of the Gurkha Army Ex-Serviceman’s Organization Krishna Kumar Rai mentioned that discussions were held regarding equal pensions for both British and Ex-Gurkha pensioners.
