Blood test to detect Covid 19 in 20 minutes
Kathmandu: It is reported that researchers at Monash University, Australia have developed a blood test which can detect COVID 19 in 20 minutes.
The statement issued by the university mentioned that researchers used 25 microliters of plasma for blood samples to identify the case.
The release issued by the university says that the people with COVID 19 infection have a clustering of red blood cells, which can also be seen from the naked eye. According to the statement, now, the agglutination examination can also identify the patient who has recovered from the infection. The researchers say that this method can be used to detect antibodies. Currently, PCR and swab test method are used to identify the COVID 19 patients.
The researchers say that medical practitioners can test up to 200 blood samples in one hour with the help of a simple lab setup. Similarly, hospitals with an advanced diagnostic machine can test 700 blood samples every hour.
